Rt. Rev. Henry (Harry) Robert Hunt, third Suffragan Bishop of Toronto, has represented the Anglican Church of Canada at a number of international conferences, such as the World Council of Churches meeting in New Delhi, India, in 1961. He is chairman or member of numerous General Synod committees and was actively associated with the planning of the 1963 Anglican Congress. Born at Brantford, Ontario, September 13, 1901, he is an M.A. of the University of Toronto and a graduate in theology of Wycliffe College, obtaining his B.D. in 1931. Following his ordination he held posts in rural areas of the Diocese of Toronto and in 1935 started a 14-year term as rector of St. John's Church, West Toronto. From 1949 until 1954 he was rector of the Church of the Redeemer, Toronto, and then became the first full-time general secretary of General Synod. He was consecrated Suffragan Bishop of Toronto, January 6, 1960. Wycliffe College conferred the honorary degree of doctor of divinity on Bishop Hunt in 1955. He is married and has two sons and a daughter.
