David Grant Nichol

April 14, 1951 – November 5, 2023

David passed away after a lengthy and difficult battle with Alzheimer’s and Cardiovascular disease. Born in Fort Simpson, NWT, he was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Sheila and his older brother, Garth Bruce.

He was beloved by his wife, Susan Rynasko, and his daughters, Margaret and Heather. He will be missed by his siblings: Elaine Harrison (Joe, dec’d), Donald (Fran), Gordon (Marcia), Chris, Sherry Guévremont (Ben), Lina, and by many nieces and nephews, as well as by Susan’s extended family.

David spent his career in the golf industry working as a greenskeeper and in golf course construction at Garrison Golf and Curling Club, CFB Kingston. In early 1988, David left his job as General Manager at Nobleton Lakes Golf and Country Club when the family moved to Hong Kong. David worked at the Discovery Bay Golf and Country Club and in the development of the Marina Club. Upon returning to Canada, he eventually returned to Nobleton Lakes from where he retired.

David also spent many years actively volunteering in both the federal and provincial Parkdale-High Park Liberal Riding Associations. His keen interest in politics rubbed off on both his daughters.
